When purchasing cultures it is crucial that you have a sterile hermetically sealed environment to store culture in each time. Once opened, your jar is no longer sterile, so we supply new jars with each order.
A question we receive is what to do with old sterile jars after they have been used?
Here are a few ideas:
- Seedling Pots
- Seed savers. Many seeds are best-stored moisture-free, in the fridge till the next planting season.
- Storage for leftover supplies (oils, wax. mica etc.)
- Bulk foods such as herbs and spices (clean with soapy water as you would any jar)
These jars seal hermetically, keeping both moisture and fresh air out of the jars, so are ideal to reuse rather than recycle.
Alternatively, you can donate to your local schools for art supplies but be sure to ask first.
